Horizons HOSA students are prepared to act as Health Advocates through trainings by the Kinesiology Department of Saint Mary's College, and instruction with Horizons Staff.

Health Advocates:

  • Learn basics of physical and mental health
  • Provide workshops to community members and younger students

As active global citizens, students engage in community outreach, such as hosting fundraisers to support community members in need.

Students are encouraged to volunteer at local health care facilities and Horizons staff are always developing new opportunities with community partners.

In 2018 Horizons received a grant from the California Department of Education to develop a Health-Science Career Pathway.

Horizons is a small, alternative education school with an established HOSA Chapter.

We partner with local colleges and Health Care professionals throughout the Bay Area to educate, certify, and mentor Horizons HOSA students.
