Horizons Mission and Goals
MISSION STATEMENT
At Horizons School, our mission is to assist in the education of independent high school students and TK-12 families. Horizons School prepares students to succeed in their education, graduate high school, pursue post-secondary options, and become productive citizens.
SCHOOLWIDE LEARNING OUTCOMES
Horizons School will prepare its graduates to be:
1. CRITICAL THINKERS who:

Research and analyze using multiple resources

Analyze media including television, print, and electronic sources to arrive at a valid interpretation on information

WASC Accreditation and UC/CSU Approved
Horizons Center for Independent Study is a grades 9-12 alternative education program and a part of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD). Horizons CIS is a fully WASC-accredited school, with California credentialed teachers, and has a UC/CSU-approved college preparatory program. Courses in Horizons CIS meet all the requirements for graduation from MDUSD.
