Choosing a College

Choosing to attend college is a significant and important milestone in any person's path through life. Data shows that attending college and earning a degree often leads individuals to greater opportunities and more choices in life. The decision to apply ultimately depends on people knowing what they want, what they are capable, and what they are willing to commit to achieve.

There are two community colleges, among several other institutions, that are well known in our area: Diablo Valley College (DVC) and Los Medanos College (LMC).

Enrolling as a High School Student

While you are in high school, you can attend DVC or LMC. The credits you earn can be applied to both college and high school. One (1) College Credit is worth 3.33 High School Credits. Tuition is very low for concurrent students.  You will need to get the Special Admissions form signed each semester by your principal, Ms. Heather Morelli.

Enrolling After High School

Even if you have previously attended DVC or LMC, you must reapply for the first semester you want to attend after you graduate from high school.  This is best completed in the semester before you graduate high school.
